Frequently asked questions
- Is leveling free?
- Mostly. Text XP, 25 role rewards, XP multipliers and no-XP zones are all free. Voice XP and rank cards are Premium.
- How is XP awarded?
- A random amount per message, inside a range you choose, no more than once per cooldown period. Both the range and the cooldown are per-server settings, so a busy server can slow progression down and a quiet one can speed it up.
- Can I give specific roles more XP?
- Yes, and channels too. A multiplier targets either a role or a channel, so boosters can earn 2x everywhere, or everyone can earn extra in one events channel.
- How many level rewards can I set up?
- 25 on the free tier and 200 on Premium. Each maps a level to a role, and you decide whether earning a new one removes the last. A reward can be edited in the dashboard after it is added.
- Can I stop people farming XP?
- The per-message cooldown does most of it. Beyond that, exclude the channels where chatter is cheap, and exclude roles that should not be earning. Voice XP has a separate minimum-members rule so an empty channel earns nothing.
- Does voice XP work while someone is muted, deafened or in the AFK channel?
- Not by default. A muted or deafened member earns no voice XP and does not count towards the channel minimum, unless you allow it. The server's AFK channel never earns XP, and you can exclude any other channel.
